About His Work
David was marked at a young age with a longing for connection and romance, the result of having been raised in an entirely pleasant suburban Cleveland home, redolent of Puritanic restraint. He honed his writing in an effort to cleave the Gordian knot of human emotion.
Through his work, David Hansen seeks to describe what we owe to each other as people. What are our fundamental obligations to one another? Hansen’s work is intimate, wildly theatrical, funny, tender and surprising, incorporating pop culture and a keen awareness of history.
