This brief, educational piece provides a fictionalized account of the family tree of First Lady Michelle Obama’s family tree, incorporating recently discovered historical documents and quotations from Mrs. Obama’s speeches and interviews.

The Emancipation, the Great Migration and the rise of the Black Middle Class are explored in this humorous and delightful piece.  Written to be performed by the fifth grade Young Ladies of Noble Elementary in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, this short play features flexible casting opportunities for any number of girls or boys.

Anyone may present this Black History Month play, free of charge, provided they first contact the playwright, and provide appropriate credit to the playwright for the work.
